Thalia Hall is one of Chicago’s most historic and respected live entertainment venues. Located in the heart of the Pilsen neighborhood, Thalia Hall was originally built in 1892 by saloon owner and politician John Dusek. Designed by architects Frederick Faber and William Pagels, the building was inspired by the grand opera houses of Europe and named after Thalia, the Greek Muse of comedy and idyllic poetry. Over the decades, the landmark became an important cultural gathering space for Chicago’s immigrant communities and performing arts scene.The venue is admired for its beautiful historic architecture and intimate concert atmosphere.
