Gyptian, born Windel Beneto Edwards on October 25, 1983, is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall artist renowned for his charming voice and heartfelt lyrics. Raised in the rural parish of St. Andrew, Gyptian discovered his passion for music at a young age, influenced by the vibrant Jamaican music scene.

In 2005, Gyptian gained international recognition with his breakthrough single “Serious Times,” which addressed social issues with a distinct reggae flavor. However, it was his 2010 global hit “Hold You” that propelled him to international stardom.
