Moving Company makes its debut on The Disco Express with “What U Got 4 Me”, landing 18 September.
Born from New York’s Moving Company parties, the project is a natural extension of the dance floor: a home for the tracks, moods and musical conversations that emerge when a community comes together around music. Every Moving Company record is created with dancers in mind, tested at their own parties and shaped by what actually works in the room.
At the controls is Istanbul-born, New York-based DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist Atilla Ural. Bringing a musician’s ear to club music, his sound draws together the swing of funk, the warmth of disco, soulful vocals and the drive of house music.
“What U Got 4 Me” channels the spirit of ’90s house and classic piano house through a distinctly modern New York lens. Vocal inspiration comes from powerhouse voices like CeCe Peniston, Martha Wash and Robin S., while the production draws from a broad lineage spanning DJ RAF, Eric Kupper, Murk and Armand Van Helden through to contemporary names Us Two and Luke Alessi.
Handcrafted around classic and modern hardware sounds, the track pairs unmistakable Korg M1 piano chords with a DX7 bassline and Roland TR-1000 drums, creating a groove that feels both nostalgic and firmly rooted in the present.
Direct, soulful and full of movement, “What U Got 4 Me” captures the Moving Company ethos perfectly: strong grooves, memorable melodies, real dynamics and records made for dancers first.
A fitting introduction to Moving Company on The Disco Express — tried, tested and built for the dance floor.
