Jane Handcock (born Myariah Summers) is an Oakland‑raised R&B singer‑songwriter whose musical roots trace back to singing in church at the age of three. She overcame a childhood speech impediment, finding her voice both literally and creatively—eventually attending Oakland School for the Arts, where she honed her talent among like‑minded peers (Apeshit Inc.). Early on she earned a reputation as a gifted “musical medium,” a compliment from Raphael Saadiq who executive‑produced her first mixtapes (The Culture Keeper).
