Theo honed his craft by preforming on stage with and being mentored by such greats as Koko Taylor, Otis Clay, Marshall Thompson of the Chi-Lites, Bobby Rush, the late great Denise LaSalle, Stan Mosley and working with Benny Latimore and the late great Mel Waiters, who both also wrote and/or produced songs for Theo such as, It’s a Good Thing I Met You and Soul Swing. Learning from many musical giants in the industry and combining many of their best attributes, Theo has developed a unique style of his own. In 2014 he won the Blues Critic Award for Best New Artist and was nominated in 2016 for the National Southern Soul Foundation’s Best Male Artist. Tom Bowser of The Chicago Recordings praised Theo “Theo is good with connecting with his audience. Theo is fun to watch and does a great job of making everyone feel welcome…Theo is the kind of artist whose music appeals also to the elderly long standing fans.”
